Dry Plastic Martini Glasses?

One of the most famous alcoholic beverages is the dry martini made from gin and dry vermouth, topped with olives. This is a symbolic drink, but is there anything wrong with drinking it out of plastic martini glasses? I asked myself that, until the situation arose where I found out how much better it was to have a plastic glass as opposed to a normal glass cup. We were hanging out and having fun, and one of my friends dropped his martini and the glass shattered when it hit the floor. I learned how much of a pain in the mess it was to clean this up because I didn’t have plastic martini glasses.
