Things to keep in mind when making the marriage name change
I was put in charge of researching what is needed to make the Marriage Name Change. It was easier that I thought, there is so much information on the Internet! I learned the most important item is certified copies of the marriage certificate – not photocopy ones. I learned that you do have to be patient, you can not make the legal name change before your wedding in preparation for your honeymoon! The first step would be to notify social security. Once that is done, they will take care of updating the IRS. After that step, driver’s licence, financial companies (banks, credit cards, loans) Then just the miscellaneous, like library and memberships. Easy right?!
