Home Value

I often wonder why people pay so much for their homes, then eventually they can no longer afford it. I guess on the other side, the benefit of having a nice house in which you can fix up and add value to, over writes the negative of just having home ownership and the monthly mortgage costs. I think retrofit insulation can more value to a home just like adding a pool, sun deck, or other improvements can. One way to find out how much value it will add, is to seek the current value of the home and then how much it would be worth once the retrofit insulation is installed.
